Father-in-law is diabetic … What should I do for Christmas dinner?

This was my menu: Pumpkin Bread Salad (w / feta and balsamic blueberries) scalloped potatoes kosher salt crusted Prime Rib with Sweet Potato w / Bacon Eggnog Orange Glazed carrots, apple All items that have less sugar in their salad, ribs and potato gratin. Is there any sugar diabetes that can be used or there are good recipes, I can suggest? Maybe a website? Thanks in advance! I just did a question, but posted in the wrong section, thanks! all sites entered Arcosso wants me to buy a book or does not give me enough information about food therefore asked for suggestions.

Leave beef ribs – more fat, sweet potatoes are a good suggestion, but not in any way it was before. Try this progress. Find fresh sweet potatoes that looks easy to peel and cut into quarters. Peel and cut into pieces and bake for about an hour. You can use cinnamon – that help regular insulin, but the butter and other fats and sugars are released. Try to do this in the next week you'll find it is tasty, if not the increase in sugar he craved as a child, but you have to eat healthy or go blind. My aunt has lost both feet due to poor circulation in the extremities, and after dialysis for the last 3 years of his life. I do not want to repeat. Incidentally, reading this book, which could extend healthy years of his father and prevent the onset with you and your children. The program is called Dr. Barnard to reverse diabetes. It has many good recipes, and most do not have much fat. Read and learn. The salad is good, carrot shaped like a low-calorie dressing well can be peas, sweet broccoli, cauliflower snack before dinner. Russett potatoes glycemic index, meaning that is rapidly absorbed by the bloodstream, can cause an increase in sugar, while sweet potatoes are absorbed more slowly, with better results. A big bowl of sweet corn is a great dish. Consider using the slow cooker to make split pea soup od gallon. While the addition of a pound of ham not found in the diet book, it becomes acceptable to customers, then I say go for it. Take a pound of peas, 8 cups of water, cut the ham and add to each pot gallon pot about 6 hours before serving dinner. Put on top and cook immediately. You can add some chopped onion and pepper mixture, but without salt, there will be many in the ham. Serve more fruits, most have a low glycemic index, and absorbed slowly and can be consumed by a diabetic. It is also healthy for the rest of the family. I suggest not to serve a 100% vegetarian diet for everyone for Christmas, but is good for them, you get a riot underway. Good luck to you.
