Why Chinese curry taste in the UK so different?
I loved the local Chinese food in the UK … curry. I live in Australia now, I never met with the same flavor. Does anyone know the difference, besides the yellow instead of coffee? Chinese Colombia craving a good curry recipe.
Curry is not a unique flavor, but a blend flavors. The proportions of different species vary from region to region. The British invented the concept of "curry powder", but a Malaysian brand curry powder with a different flavor of Jamaica, unlike an Indian, and so on. And, of course, variations are regional in-country. The color difference is not really an indicator, because it is particularly sweet turmeric. It is the balance of spices other different brands. You must make your own blend of spices.
